Free comparison worksheet
Baggage cost calculator
Copy the prices from each airline or booking checkout, mark every non-applicable item, and compare complete trip costs on the same basis. A blank or unknown charge keeps that option visibly incomplete.
Changing the currency relabels every amount; it does not convert one currency into another.
Your comparison
Complete totals rank first
This worksheet only adds the figures you enter. It does not confirm an airline allowance, availability or final checkout price. Recheck the selected fare and operating airline immediately before paying.
How to make a like-for-like flight comparison
Search the same route, dates, passenger count and currency for every option. Use prices for the whole party and both directions. If an airline only reveals a bag price after a fare is selected, copy that checkout amount and record the date above. Do not compare a one-way add-on with a return-trip fare.
For each cost row, choose Enter price, Included or Not needed. Leave the row as Unknown when the provider has not shown enough information. The calculator withholds the total instead of silently converting that missing cost to zero.
The formula
A complete option is the whole-party return fare plus every required under-seat, cabin, checked-bag, sports-equipment, seat, booking and airport-travel cost. Included and genuinely unnecessary items add zero. An unknown required amount makes the result incomplete and prevents it from being labelled the cheapest.
When to use the app instead
The Fly with Bags app applies the same supported bag request to returned flights. The latest production check returned fares and policy guidance but no complete offer-bound bag total. Use this worksheet when you need to add a checkout figure the app cannot establish, or when comparing sports equipment, seats and ground travel outside the app's current scope. Read the ranking methodology for the product's missing-data rules.
